Anxiety sometimes sneaks up on us. We manage and manage and manage some more and then suddenly we find ourselves in a situation overcome by anxiety. perhaps we didn’t even realize we were stressed out in the first place. We exercise and breathe and do our pilates and then one day, it just hits us hard right in the face. If we had the ability to control our feelings and emotions all of the time or know when they were going to happen, this would be a far different world. but how can we constantly manage our anxiety? how can we be prepared or even know that at a certain time or place we might be overcome with these emotions?
We’ve all hear the term stress management, but what does that even mean? how do we avoid becoming stressed out in the first place? What are “healthy” ways to deal with stress? These are serious questions. stress management by definition involves techniques intended to equip a person with effective coping mechanisms for dealing with psychological stress. Some people spend years practicing and perfecting these techniques – yoga, meditation, running, art, some people even look for organic carbon 60 products online.
There are some important things to consider regarding stress in our lives. stress typically turns to anger when not managed well and if you think you might be in danger of hurting yourself or someone else, seek professional help immediately. To find a therapist in your area, call your insurance or check out https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/.

There is currently a trend towards online therapy services like Talk space so there are no excuses for not getting help. Don’t have the money? find a center that offers a sliding scale fee like Catholic Charities or your local church. most therapists will do their best to help find you the services you need so give one a call. then if you have been having a really hard time coping then therapy can be an excellent help, I used a therapist in Glasgow who was excellent so cannot recommend seeking therapy enough as it can be a substantial help. have you been the victim of domestic violence or other type of crime? You may be able to apply for services through victim witness Assistance. the most important thing is to get help. Now!
Many factors are involved in dealing with stress and other feelings that sometimes go along with that like anger, frustration, hopelessness, guilt, and jealousy. We can’t control how and when we experience feelings. They are a natural human response. feelings come and go in waves and not always at the time and place we are equipped and prepared to deal with them. What makes certain people more capable of dealing with feelings? someone who is wise? someone who meditates every day? certain people might be more predisposed to higher levels on anxiety than others, but practicing stress management daily and from an early age can help.
Sometimes anxiety might be triggered by something that happened to you in the past. maybe it was an event that happened as a child, perhaps a single trauma or a pattern of circumstances in an unhealthy relationship.
If we don’t practice reducing stress on a regular basis, we run the risk of exploding like a volcano. I see it each day – in the line at the grocery store, driving, parents losing it with their kids. We’ve all lost it at one point or another. sometimes we think we don’t have TIME for stress management. It’s just another thing to add to our very long list of things to get done, but then we find ourselves stressed out and overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety.

The most important thing is that you find a healthy technique that works for you and sometimes it can take a little bit of time to figure that out. having more than one technique is even better! maybe you really like to play tennis, but practicing the piano gives you a terrific sense of calm. Last, it’s especially important to recognize when you are letting stress or anxiety get the best of you so you don’t end up feeling out of control. So go play some tennis, climb a rock wall or paint of picture!
